It's that time again! The time of the Dragon*con!

As you all probably know, I'm a guest this year, again.

I will be in the Artist/Comics & Pop Art alley at Table #27 [located in the Grand Hall East of the Hyatt Regency] also, my partner in crime, Andrew "Drew" E.C. Gaska, will be at table #28 [right next to me, aww!]

Premiering at the show is the new GOD MACHINE ash-can! New God Machine material for your eager hands.

I will have volume 1 of THE GOD MACHINE, prints [new, refreshed ones, and classics], the elusive "Preview" issue of THE GOD MACHINE returns [which was found hiding in a warehouse recently], and surprise goodies which even I don't know exactly what they are yet.


This year I have a list for commissions. There is ONLY a limited number of spaces. So first come, first served!

*Note to those who ordered commissions from me, that your commissions will be ready on Saturday and any other time during the con. AND to all who put in your print requests, come and pick up your prints at any time.



SECRET! If you want one of my infamous CRAZY CRAYON COMMISSIONS, ask for it by name! They cost $5.00 dollars, but I won't be advertising it on my table, so..!

Dragon*con is just around the corner, and it's time to prepare!

Due to last years massive demand for commissions I'm starting a list for commissions! Which means there will be a limited number of commissions I will be taking this year. [on account I nearly killed myself last year trying to meet the demand!]

Here's the deal-
I will be taking 4 internet pre-orders right now at a discounted price! The catch is that you pay now, and then pick up your drawing on Saturday or any day after of your choice! The point is you get a guaranteed sketch from me!

-But if you miss this opportunity to do it online or just can't do it, you'll have another chance at the con. Just make sure you come as soon as you can to my table to make sure you get to be part of the list!

It's that time again! Dragon*con time! [well Aug 31st-Sept. 3 is when the event is!] I will be a guest again this year, and so will Drew Gaska [writer of Critical Millennium, Space:1999, Conspiracy of the Planet of the Apes].

I have many treats planned for this show [including a special mini comic...!] and much more!

I will be posting more artwork coming up, so please feel free to request those as well. I will set aside your print away from the rest of the prints so you get a guaranteed print of your dreams!

San Diego Comic-con Commission Fund Drive!

I'm doing limited special $60 commissions to raise funds to help with unexpected costs going to SDCC. Here's the details! This is not like my normal commissions*. They are at a fixed rate- $60 dollars for a digital fully colored bust and a splash of color round background. [NOTE: A bust in this instance is a head to slightly below the shoulders. NO FULL BODY images.]

Here's SHORELEAVE to demonstrate this kind of commission!

What you can request:

Pick 1 of the following-

• Your favorite character from whatever series [reference is nice!]


• Your character [I NEED your reference]


• A portrait of you, your friend, family, etc. [photos please] No animals please!

PAYMENT UPFRONT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE- The reason for this is so I can have fast turn around of images and to have the funds in time for SDCC [which is only a few weeks away!]. As soon as I get the money you will be slotted in the list, and receive your image before the 28th of June.  Yes! That fast, if not faster! You will receive 2 jpegs of your image- one at 100% and the other at about %25 the size of the original. Original images are done at 300 dpi [aka standard high resolution] and measure out to be 8.5" x 11". You have til Wednesday the 27th to place your order OR till the slots fill up.

So, yesterday was my 8 year anniversary on DeviantART.
Closing in on that decade here.

Just...wow! 8 years is a long time.

So, why not share some progress?

FIRST DEVIATION (submitted):
The weird this about this, is that I submitted a whole cluster of images to DA in November, work that was already old.
So it's hard to pin-point which was first, but I went ahead and chose the oldest of the images, this-

(year 2002, submitted in 2003)


FIRST DAILY DEVIATION:
I find it fitting that this was my first DD. Why? This was a turning point for me in my artwork.
I had just recently decided I wasn't going back to college (my... "break" of sorts...) , I started to experiment fully with Photoshop, and I then I really started to discover my artistic voice.
See, college did a number on me. I could never please my professors with my work since I tended to blend illustration with fine art. That's like oil and water to fine art teachers. At any rate, I was close to finishing college, but some snags came up, and I just couldn't move on with that pursuit.
At any rate, my first DD really was part of a series of images that explored adding abstracted elements in photoshop with my figures.
I really started to get a feel for making "realistic" kind of effects within the boundaries of the digital medium.

Also, i've been part of a Deviant Art hometown meeting, and interviewed by DA at San Diego Comic-con!

You've encouraged me to continue with my work, to continuously improve my skill, and continue to push my work further.

Okay! Hey there everybody!

Sorry I haven't had the chance to respond to some of your comments- but I have been reading (As always) and they are always appreciated.

First bit of news is that I will be at New York Comic-con with Drew Gaska. No artist table this time, but we will be at the Archaia booth #1546.  
If you have any print requests, please make them. I won't be doing much in the way of prints for this con.

There will be copies of The God Machine (including the elusive leather bound edition, i believe.), also the 2nd volume of Fraggle Rock that I worked on will be there.
Drew's books will be at the show as well: Conspiracy of the Planet of the Apes (I contributed 2 digital paintings), Critical Millennium (I contributed 1 pin-up, an afterword and a few other things.)


Also the newly released graphic novel of Feeding Ground will be out as well at the Archaia booth. Which I contributed a pin-up to that as well!

The big con is here!!! Yes! It's Dragon*con time!
I will be in artist alley (not sure what table) as a guest and so will be Andrew "Drew" Gaska at a table of his own!

I will have prints, commissions, The God Machine Graphic Novel, exclusive trading cards, Labyrinth prints, DOCULA prints, and maybe so much more! Drew will be busting with new books- premiering the Critical Millennium Hard Cover at this show (with a pin up and afterword by yours truly), and he'll have the Conspiracy of the Planet of the Apes book on hand as well!! No doubt that he too will have Apes prints and trading cards for you POTA fans!

Greetings citizens!

Back from SDCC- and WOW my first time I ever had fun at this con.
Got to see a lot of my friends, meet some great fans, and get The God Machine out there!
Also the 2nd volume of Fraggle Rock (published by Archaia) finally came out! (Your's truly contributed art for it and so did *LCibos)
Not to mention the illustrated novel, Conspiracy of the Planet of the Apes also came out, which i contributed 2 illustrations to that as well!

I also finally got to meet the lovely

It's that time again, San Diego Comic Con time!

So here's the scoop!



I will be at the Archaia booth #2635 (between the Image and MARVEL booths) and Archaia's satellite booth #4401 (not confirmed at this time that is the actual number for the satellite booth) Please see attached graphic for specific times listed each day. All times are subject to change and possible extra time at the booth as well-- sorry it's not an exact science yet, but Archaia is going to have 70 creators/artists at their booth this year. INSANE!

So what's happening with me at the Archaia booth? Glad you asked! ;D

--this will be the first time the God Machine hardcover will be at San Diego!  YAY!  So those of you who have been waiting for it (and a signature from me) will get their chance! Be sure to get there ASAP if you've been waiting for the LEATHER BOUND EDITION of The God Machine. Archaia only brings limited quanities-- so be aware, they GO FAST! 

Also I will be signing for Fraggle Rock, and the PREMIERING prose novel I contributed 2 illustrations for- Conspiracy of the Planet of the Apes! Written by my partner in crime, Andrew E.C. Gaska! --Lots of awesome news for that! At Archaia's booth there will be exclusive collectible Apes trading cards, a walk around Zira (from the original Apes movies), and special signings with artists from the book - Jim Steranko! Dave Dorman! and Dan Dussault! 

 

More exciting BLAM! Ventures news is that Critical Millennium issue #4 should  be out for this convention!

In addition- I will have a limited amount of prints on me, but that's about it for this con. No commissions this time around. But if you want one when I get back from the con please check out my commission rules/rates!

I wanted to say a big thank you to for inviting me and some very talented and wonderful artists to come to the DA Town Hall Meeting in NYC.
When i say these guys care about DA, they truly care! It was nice to express concerns and our love for deviantArt. Also i got to meet some AMAZING people in the process.
