Yesterday was the start of International Woman's week here at DA. This is where we celebrate women, and raise up important issues dealing with women's health, social status, and their history. Also the images that place the woman as a celebrated figure, and not so celebrated. ^sbaraci explains this so much better than me.
I wrote up a whole rant I had on sexism, but I feel that would undermine the positive vibe of this event. My words do indeed need to be said, but not today.
But go forth, spread the word, do features on female artists, feature art work of women. Write articles about women who have effected you in your daily life. Bring up issues!
Go forth my loves, make this a special event.
As for me, I have to go back to being the oppressed comic artist. Will anybody fight for our rights? ^_~ [man i wish i was really kidding. ]
Seriously, I'm behind in my work on my comic. My deadline for turning in my pages for "The God Machine" is the 12th. Somewhere in there I have to go visit Mega-con for a day. >_<
Female comic artist i be! yar!
Take care sweethearts, and hopefully i'll be able to do a feature on women sometime soon... *and maybe a sub to DA again... *looks sheepishly*...please?
EDIT: Thanks to *Kuiosikle for the 3 month sub!
Now if it would only kick in full.

All Jay, All the Time.
Featuring: The Jay Bleeker Street Performers and Jayozo, the Candy Royale Clown.
It can coincide with Women's week, I don't mind.
Come ladies, ride the Jay Train. Jay Train Express Rollercoaster.
Big ups.
I had no idea I could respect women artists as equals capable of writing on the same emotions as men for a week as opposed to forever. Looks like my English Lit teacher was wrong.

"...last night, 30,000 kids died of starvation or diseases related to malnutrition...most of you dont give a shit. Whats more is that youre more upset with the fact that I just said shit than the fact that 30,000 kids died last night."
May this be a week of happiness, productivness, improvment and empowerment! Weee!
