Artist's Comments

media- charcoal on newsprint paper, touch ups in photoshop.
from- real life study.

Thinking of Vermeer when I named this piece. Even after drawing it I thought of those paintings of the milk maids.
(not to imply this is like a Vermeer.. just a general idea.)

The more I look at this drawing the more I like it. I used to hate it's legs.. but they've really grown on me now.

A really interesting study.
It's a delight getting to see your new deviations.

Like i've said before, les in your artwork stand out. These are quite twisted, though, very strange. I like the chosen medium, the character study looks like it was drawn in one straight sketch, as if you didn't lift the charcoal. The work has a great look, not one of my favorites, but another glimpse at your versitility.

Real life studies are always a nessary thing, they make the rest of the work stronger in the long run, and add something different on a whole. Besides that they are great exercises with the eye, proving it's not just the thing that looks, it's the thing that READS.

and if this makes no sense blame it on the fact that i'm half asleep. ^^;
