-----------full view please---------------

character- Mari Lin Joseph
from- my comic, "The God Machine."
media- photoshop.

Felt like i needed to do some art work. I've been working on comic stuff that's driving me nuts (my fault really for designing a crappy page.. but i fixed it. ^^ ) Anyways, a pic of Mari i give to you all.

Mari is Guy's other best friend since the 2nd grade. ^^ I like Mari, she's a nice gal. :D

EDIT: Please people.. don't leave me one word "compliments." Please tell me what you like about the image. Otherwise I think i've done something wrong, that i have created an image that doesn't connect with people at all.. and that it's just as shallow as "beautiful." I can't grow from these simplified compliments.. I know you all mean well.. but please..a little something more before i decide to scrap this image based on lthe fact it might actually be crap.

I love the shading and the pose! Her facial expression is wonderful

I really like the way you have composed the page, and the white background works well with the colours you've chosen. I like the insubstantiality of Mari's figure as she retreates into the bbackground, and the looming shape of her boot giving the image depth. The brushes you have used work really well; using them simply to create the impression of the image (such as in her hair and skirt).

She seems so sad...and innocent, but corrupted.
Beautiful work as always, -Chan! ^^

very nice composition, though the white back makes it a lot more lighter than I initially thought it meant.

Wow... Great. I think I might start drawing again....

It's really everything, I can't say there's anything in particular about it that I love; The skirt poofing out is really perfect, I think the size of the eyes really draws the attention to the face, love the pout of the lips, the point of the chin, the contrast between the boots (ie one being inked in black the other not), the use of gray, and the background; it looks like it's weighing down on her shoulders.

Yes... much admiration....

She is a very beautiful character, but she looks too similar to Anthy Himemiya from Revolutionary Girl Utena. It's the dark skin and purple hair... along with the dot on her forehead.
Awesome outfit, though. Makes me think of a dark ballerina. ^_^

Damn.. i hadn't thought about Anthy in a long time. Maybe i'll drop teh dot then. I was just having her be into her heritage. She's half african american and half Indian. :/ And damn teh purple hair (i want her to have something better then just black, and my other characters cover the colors i want them to have in their hair... Course she has dreds vs. Anthy's strange curled up buns...

Crap.. damn Anthy. Now i'm going to rue the day i saw Utena.

Now i'm going to feel uncomfortable all day about this now. grrr on Utena.

You can keep the skin tone and the dot if it's for her heritage. Why not do dark blue hair? Just a suggestion. I'm not sure if another one of your characters has that color hair or not. Or a darker pruple even. The lighter purple just makes her look too much like Anthy.

Sith has dark blue.
Perhaps dark puple would be good. *nods*

Hmmm...it's very melancholic. :( Like she has this burden on her shoulders, and it's bumming her out. And the way the colors pour on her back and stream underneath her body...yeah, I like that touch. Did you even intend on it looking like that? :)

I wish I could find some boots and fishnets like that, that I could afford. :/
