Happy Traditional Art Day!
I thought i'd contribute and submit a drawing that's been hanging around for a few weeks. (Originally started at Orlando Comic-con.) I was saving this for the whole gambit treatment, full colors, depth, abstractions and a whole presentation that i still want to look similar to "Le Voyage Dans La Lune," (or for those of you who don't know that refference, think Smashing Pumpkins' "Tonight" video, which is based on Le Voyage Dans La Lune. Youtube both if you're interested, i recommend.) But i figured I'd submit this in it's pencil format (with photoshop touch ups for presentation's sake) for Traditional Art day.
Besides i almost feel like i'll never get around to completing this image, so might as well share it while i can.
This was a bitch to scan in. This is the problem with large sketch books, you're compelled to draw ridiculously large images that you can't possibly scan in without doing it 4 times. Image measures about 13.75 x 17 inches. >_< No fun! Oh well.
Shame i don't have a new painting to share, or the time to photograph some of my nude studies, or anything of that sort. Some other time.
Anyways, I hope everybody is paying respects to Traditional art today.
Spread the word, get involved! Traditional art is still important, and it's good to not forget where we come from.
