character- Dr. Henry Killinger & his magic murder bag
from- The Venture Brothers; season 2.
media- pencil/paper, photoshop.
my other Venture Brothers artwork ->[link]
Was featured on an Adult Swim bump, see it here -> [link]

My all time favorite minor character from the Venture Brothers. I was in love with him since the advance screening of "I know why the Cage Bird Kills" at Dragon*con. (though i can't say i have any love for his real life counter part.)

Anyways I did this image in honor of the release of The Venture Brothers season 2 DVD (which is out today!! Go buy it.. that is if you like the show... or if you've been dieing to see Season 2.. or hell get both seasons on DVD! :P)

Honestly, I don't think I should have colored this image. I had a solid sketch that probably would have stood alone.. but whatever. The point is, i finally did Killinger, and I did it in time for the release of the 2nd DVD.. and that's all that matters... right?

75% of him is done from memory, and elaborated to how I felt he should look in parts. Drawn mostly in some burger joint that probably gave me the infestation of pain today in my intestines... it's time to go vegetarian with seafood this week, that's for sure. (i'm still in pain too!)

I need to stop rambling, get back to work, and stay up til the wee' hours so i can go buy the Venture Brothers 2nd season DVD.

much love

Let teachers, priests and philosophers brood over questions of reality and illusion. I know this: if life is an illusion, then I am no less an illusion, and being thus, the illusion is real to me. I live, I burn with life, I love, I slay, and I am conan

he's so... so... so.... EVIL!!!!! )

Doc Killinger's floating exits are one of my favorite things about season two!

I share your gastrointestinal distress...this college cafeteria food is destroying me from the inside out. T_T Anyway! Looove the tilt of this one, it really makes the piece dramatic, and I love the ink everywhere,

Ah Killinger, he was an odd one. I find drawing things from memory can have interesting results, like you can clearly imagine the character yet you end up drawing it differently.
Good angle there, I am hopeless at that. I know I am supposed to draw the feet bigger and the head smaller than usual if it's coming from that angle but it never turns out right.

This picture makes me so happy.
Excellent Job.
