character- Guy Salvatore from- my comic, "The God Machine." Coming out Oct. 28th!!! Info on where to get it: [link] media- pencil on comic paper, photoshop
My first pass at this piece. Seeing if i like it, thinking on it. I hope i didn't over work it.
Page break/cover for chapter/issue 3 of THE GOD MACHINE.
This was a weird piece all the way through. From composition, to how I handled the elements in color. This was very different, but familiar to me. I don't know how to explain it. The usual Chan-signatures remain... though i was trying to NOT have those happen... but what can you do?
Chapter 3 is a fun one. Lots of coffee and monsters!
I just finished up writing chapter 4- which is hopefully my strongest in terms of writing dialog. I dunno, i like it a lot! More creepy things, and we go into Guy's head further.
THE GOD MACHINE is finally coming out this month!! I'm so excited!!! Finally, after all this time!! Hope you guys find the first issue, if not, have your local comic shop order it!
Sure thing. I mean every word of it. I didn't mean to be offensive though. Just thought you migh be a mass comment deleter. XD seem to have a bunch of them.
you know, I don't think I understand those people. Why would you submit your work on a community, leave an image open to comments, and not read them? Seems rather wasteful not to get some sort of feedback, or understand what your audience sees/or has to say.
I understand time though. A lot of people don't have it to give- but that's when they should turn off the comments.
-i wasn't offended btw. Just reminded of the odd politics this site incites. That, and the perception of popularity via views/fave/etc. I'm on my 6th year here, and it's taken me a lot to get to where I am. I've grown as an artist, worked to build a decent rep here, and had to go up against popular art genres. Some other artists within a year sky-rocket way past my numbers with art work that is more geared towards the audience here on DA. Or even others have had success through a system that had worked for them at the right time.[genre catagories, and front page priorities.] Me- slow and steady! I get less than 10 comments a day.. if any. Faves/watches i get my fair share. But- numbers are all an illusion- What's real is hard work, a will to share and listen- that's where it's at. That's the importance. Not to say one doesn't want comments/watches/faves- it increases eyes on the work, and encourages more people to converse, and help me understand what it is about my work that appeals to them so i may strive to be a better artist, or to at least know my message through art is coming through.
I think that most people that have kinda hit it on DA tend to just flip through comments as a constant in-pour of faves and "OMG YOUR STUFF IS AMAZING". They just kinda skim over it. I am glad to see you're a real person.
It looks like you have a lot of inspiration from Tim Burton. I am sure you have others that I don't know about, but he's the only one I can think of that I can see in your style (Which is actually really original for the genre that you do. Most people just try to be angsty. lol). I love that you have the ability to do random abstract and character development, mixing the two together to make your pictures. It's a rare gift.

98% of Deviants don't know the difference between "your" and "you're." If you're one of the 2% that wants to punch 'em, put this in your sig.
but I love your stuff and think it is fantastic.
